Season 9 Truth Injustice is going to be like nothing we've ever done before.

For five years, we've picked apart one case per season.

The process usually goes on for about six months to a year, but we're living in a different world right now.

2020 has thrown up one roadblock after another.

Businesses are closed, schools are closed, all of us have been forced to change the way we operate.

Whether we're looking to go out for a simple meal, or finding the balance between putting food on the table and homeschooling our children.

Since this pandemic began, myself and the rest of the team here at NBI Studios have been fighting to continue business as usual.

But just a few weeks ago, our world was rocked in more ways than one.

The subject of our season 8 case, Debra Parenger, passed away in prison.

After 18 years of being incarcerated, Deb finally had an army of supporters working to find the Truth in her case.

But before our work could be completed, Deb velled victim to the virus and has changed the world.

Deb's passing left us with no other choice than to move on to a new case.

There are thousands of men and women asking for our help and our mission dictates that we keep working.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 has reared its ugly head again.

As I began reviewing cases submitted to us by various innocence projects, the reality of the situation became abundantly clear.

We can't travel, we can't interview in person, and we can't get access to the records necessary to properly investigate a case.

So, as the US Marines motto goes, we improvise, adapt, and overcome.

This season will be doing something different.

While I continue to research our next big case and wait for the world to reopen, today we begin the process of discussing a different case every week.
