What pleased me enormously in your letter was the bit about Till We Have Faces, for I think it far and away my best book, but it has, with the critics in the public, been my one great failure, an absolute flop.

No one seems to have the slightest idea what I'm getting at in it.

This season, we've read chapter by chapter through Perilandra.

We've explored Jack's bookshelf.

We spent a month in Narnia.

And now in July, we actually enter the last month of season eight.

We had originally intended to have two more months, an After Hours month and a Charles

Williams month, but we kind of ran out of time. We had Matt's

wedding and honeymoon at the beginning of the season, so we didn't start recording this season very

early. And it took us 25 episodes to get through Peralandra, and we're recording this episode a few

weeks in advance. But when this episode drops, the next day my son is going to be born.

Which means that I am not going to have a whole lot of spare time for a little while.

Or sleep.

All that, yeah.

Actually, newborns aren't too bad, but I'll be managing the other two gremlins, so I will be pretty busy.

Seriously, they woke up before 6 a.m.

Both of them this morning.

Oh, no.

But this season, we now just have two episodes left.
