This season, we've read through through Peralandra, but this month

we've been looking at Jack's bookshelf, at the authors and books which shaped his life and

outlook. Today is our final episode of Jack's bookshelf this season, and today we're looking

at T.S. Eliot with returning guest Father Dwight Longnecker.

Father Longnecker was brought up in an evangelical home in Pennsylvania. He graduated from Bob

Jones University with a degree in speech and English, and he went to study theology at Oxford

University. Eventually, he was ordained as an Anglican priest and served as a curate,

school chaplain in Cambridge, and a country parson on the small island just of the South

England, the Isle of White. After 10 years working as a freelance writer and charity worker,

he returned to the United States and was ordained a Catholic priest. He now serves as pastor of Our Lady of the Rosary

Church in Greenville, South Carolina. He is the author of many books, including the Gargoyle Code

and Slub Group Instructs, as well as the book, which we'll be discussing today, reluctant allies,

essays on Elliot and the Inclings. Father Dwight Longnecker, welcome back to Pites with Jack.
