Non-Proliferation Policy Education Center,

reflecting where we are now with regard the Iran suspect nuclear weapons program and the capability of building a bomb quickly.

Henry, a very good evening to you. We have this from Reuters in these last hours. Iran says it is reviewing new U.S. proposal

after sources say sides closing in on deal, the subhead. Iran said it was reviewing a new U.S.

proposal after sources said Washington and Tehran were closing in on a one-page memorandum

to end the war in the Gulf while leaving tricky issues such as

Iran's nuclear program for later. What can you tell me about this one-page? Good evening, Henry.

Good evening. It's always great being on your program. Thank you for having me on again.

What we know from the public record comes less from Reuters than it does from another new source, Axios.

They put out a piece today that kind of fleshed out where things stand in the thinking in this administration about what we should be asking of the

Iranians on the nuclear bit. The Iranians say we will have a moratorium and not enrich for five

years. The president's people first said it has to be at least 20. They broke. Now we're niggling in

disputes of whether it should be 12 or 15. Now after that moratorium, the idea is, well, we'll let

them enrich again, but only to 3.75%.

And they have to do it above ground so we can bomb it.

Well, all of this is a little cute by half, according to critics.

I guess I put myself in that category as a critic.

And the critics point out that as soon as you allow a

country to make nuclear fuel, you have to live with a possibility that at any time they can

break out and build a bomb before you can do anything about it, whether you're looking at it,
