the Golden State, always in the news, but right now it feels dominating the story of the next

phase of American politics, which is the presidency and the transportation across the country

with gasoline, with diesel, or with railroads,

or with airliners that are running out of jet fuel.

I want to begin with the gubernatorial race because I'm losing track of how many candidates

there are.

The governor is leaving office this year. The election will be this year,

and there'll be a new governor in 27. Good. Last time I checked, there was a member of Congress

who was getting a lot of attention for his alleged misconduct in some fashion to do with young

women or something like that. A scandal,

a good old-fashioned Washington scandal. He's left Congress and dropped out of the gubernatorial race.

But I, and since then there have been debates that you've sent me news about. The debates have

left everybody head scratching, but there must be something changing in the statistics after these debates.

Can we say there's a leader now, or is it still everybody neck and neck?
