I'm John Baxter Bill Rajo, Senior Fellow Foundation for Defense of Democracy, Iran. Observing Iran from the

outside is challenging, so we're very pleased to welcome our colleague, Jonathan Saya,

the Foundation for Defense of Democracy, a research fellow who has lived in Tehran many, many years,

and understands carefully what we should be watching and what not

during this conflict over the Strait of Hormuz, over the suspect nuclear weapons program,

over war-making by surrogates throughout the Middle East. But 92 million people at least in Iran,

an area the size of France, Britain, and Germany put together.

That's how big this is.

And there's not just one grouping.

There are several groupings that are significant watching the conflict with the decision-making

of what's left of the IRGC and the government.

Bill and I are as confused as everyone reading the headlines.

As we understand right now, the talks are not going forward.

But the Iranian people, they have suffered for years under a brutal, brutal leadership.

That leadership, do we have reason to believe it's any less brutal than it was before?

When we had the names, now we don't necessarily have all of the names.

You've come forward with five major figures, all of whom are dedicated revolutionaries.

Is there increasingly many hands that are leading in this country, or is it those five

week to week now?
