This is John Batchelor, conversation with Mariam Waba of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies,

writing most recently about Sudan, a raging and vastly murderous campaign by rebel forces of suicides,

warlords, really, being fed arms and material and money from the outside. Russia's there,

Egypt's there, Saudi Arabia is present, Turkey's present, and certainly Iran's present, the

IRGC, the Muslim brothers. What's new in listening to Merriam report this carefully, his drones

are being used now. In other words,

the battlefield that was Ukraine is now transporting itself across the Mediterranean to the battlefield

of warlords riding around in flatbeds with automatic weapons. And now drone warfare is

Merriam to describe who's selling them drones?

Absolutely.

This is yet another way that the battlefield has changed in Sudan due to foreign intervention.

The SAF and the RSF are not particularly sophisticated or at least weren't up until recently,

particularly sophisticated fighting groups. But because of foreign intervention,

including drones being shipped in from Iran, parts actually being

shipped in from Iran and then assembled in Sudan and neighboring countries and then being handed

over to the warring parties.
