This is John Batchelor, a conversation with my colleague Elizabeth Peake about anxiety over artificial intelligence, AI, and the populism that pushes back against AI as a tool of destruction, a tool of taking a job.

take the time to really appreciate that or sort of admire that. And so when you have, you know,

there is this resistance to AI, John, and it's becoming a political issue.

Bernie Sanders, AOC, people like that are out there saying, oh my gosh, we have to fear AI because it's going to take,

Bernie has a study showing 50 million jobs.

I don't really think that's true because I think there are a lot of endeavors which we don't yet have,

that we're not yet doing that will be facilitated by this new tool, as you call it.

But, you know, there's anxiety there.

And unfortunately, there are communities that don't want data centers. They don't want to have a lot of power plants in their backyard. So I'll see,

you know, we'll see how this spins out. My guess is it's going to spin out kind of as you'd

expect where a lot of blue states are maybe going to put up barriers to these kinds of investments.

And guess what? That'll just encourage the already steady flow of businesses and people to red states like
