the People's Republic of China. We're very eager to learn from Steve Yates of the Heritage Foundation

what has become of the famous meeting. One year, less one day from Liberation Day 2025.

The Trump administration's presentation in April 1st

was that the tariffs would answer the competition with China and everyone else,

but chiefly China,

and that a conversation needed to take place.

In the fall of 2025, you will recall, the president announced that there had been

an adjustment of the expectation of China.

The very challenging tariff environment that was proposed April 1st would be suspended or

wait for further consultation and looking to a meeting between

the president and Xi Jinping, the leader of the Chinese Communist Party. That date was set at March 31st.

That is now not going to happen. Therefore, what does that mean between the two states? These are the two major

customers and producers of goods around the earth. What does that mean for them? And what does it

mean for the tariff question that used to dominate the earth before the Iran war? Steve, I come

to you and I understand the last time we talked

about this, March 31st is not going to happen. The president said five or six weeks, but that was a

couple of weeks ago. And as I recall, you told me there had been no certainty out of Beijing.

Is there a new date and is it significant whether the two men meet or not given the tariff question?
