Summary

8. Professor Evan Ellis analyzes the reversal of the "pink tide" in South America, highlighted by the election of conservative capitalist Jose Antonio Kastin Chile. He discusses the cooling relations between the U.S. and Brazil's President Lula, who is currently in a statistical tie for re-election with Flavio Bolsonaro. Lula’s recent condemnations of U.S. military strikes and his deepening ties with BRICS partners have alienated the Trumpadministration, leading to the cancellation of his planned White House visit.
