I'm John Batchel with my colleague and friend Gordon, Simon Constable, in the South of France in

Paradise, and we're addressing a major story in Britain that's just breaking all over.

It's an Epstein story, but it's not about the exploitation of young people and the crimes

alleged by a number of major VIPs around the world.

The breaking story, the one that bites hardest,

is the credibility of the Labor Party and of Parliament itself.

Simon, what do we need to know about Peter Mandelson?

What does he come from?

What does he represent in England? Well, he's been a mover and shaker in the

Labour Party for a very long time, decades and decades. He was there to reform the Labor Party

when the Labor Party in the 1980s really couldn't get elected. And so he was one of the

strategists that got in there and possibly the lead strategist to say, okay, we need to have

new labor and he got better leaders. And they got in and he's been at the helm of that and working on that for a long time.

And he's done very well for himself.

He's also been basically, basically he's been attacked by people a lot of times for things he has done, quite rightly, those things. And it's

not just the latest things we've heard about, which was selling data information to secret

information to Epstein. And that was an absolute terrible thing because that was a trade.

Alleged, Simon. Alleged. Alleged. Alleged. My apologies. Alleged. It's only alleged at this point.

But that basically added to what he'd been doing for a long time, which was breaking law rules after rules, after rules, after

rules. And he's resigned numerous times during that career. He has been a very charming man.

He was very good at getting people to do things in a different way. But this stuff, this

allegation is really quite, quite serious. And I think
