| 0:00.0 | We've been talking about it forever, but Blank Game Week 31 is finally here. |
| 0:04.9 | We debate which Arsenal and City players are worth a hold. |
| 0:07.3 | So Bosley and Gordon are top of our wish list. |
| 0:09.4 | We also analyse where we're at with planning after a round of Champions League. |
| 0:17.4 | Guys, I always love doing this podcast, but I've had a bad day. |
| 0:20.5 | I've had a bad week. So I'm actually, it's not that bad. I'm being dramatic, but it's actually really nice to all be back together. It's a Wednesday evening. Been one of those days. Got a new car. It's broken already. Got a few issues like that. My daughter keeps waking up. We're recording very late in night. I'm probably going to be up all night. But at least I get to talk to Sam and Jules because you're in a Wednesday late night record because Sam for some reason wanted to go to Spurs. They did win at least. And of course, we have got plenty of information from the Champions League that will help us going forward in FPL. So hello, this will be with you, as it always is, on a Thursday afternoon. Great to be back with you. These guys are going to cheer me up. Right, Jules? Yeah, of course, because. I mean, who else, apart from you can buy a car that breaks down after seven miles? It's not broken down completely. Just all the warning lights came on. I was all proud of my new car. Anyway, no one's listening to this year of my tales of woe, but hopefully if you've had a bad week that makes you feel a little bit better. Sam's in a slightly better mood |
| 1:14.5 | because Spurs did win. I'm sure we're going to talk about that at points throughout the podcast. But I think the most important thing is to start with what the Champions League and the progression of Premier League teams means for us in the FA Cup, not in the FA Cup in FPL. The FA Cup is also going to play a part in FPL, but we're not going to talk about that right now. So what do we know then? Chelsea and Manchester City have both been knocked out of the Champions League in case you missed it, which means they're going to have more free midweeks, including the midweek after game week 34. What that means is that if Chelsea win in the FA Cup, |
| 1:45.0 | their game week 34 fixture against Brighton could actually stay in the midweek that follows |
| 1:48.9 | because neither of those teams are playing in Europe. This actually means that the double |
| 1:52.8 | game week we were hoping for for these teams might not happen. And the same as three for Manchester |
| 1:58.3 | City. They face Burnley, although Manciti do have a fixture to be rescheduled already against Palace, which has to be moved for this weekend's League Cup final. I think I've basically summed it up. Sam's nodding along, which means I'm normally right. Am I right there? Yeah, it didn't really matter what happened with Spurs tonight because we're due to playing 34 anyway, being out of the FA Cup. Cup. And we probably knew you were out already, sorry. Yeah. So it didn't really make much difference. Liverpool obviously have gone through. So they will have a fixture in that midweek. So they could be impacted. But again, it depends on whether they progress in the FA Cup or not. And obviously they've got Manchester City in the FA Cup, |
| 2:34.8 | so we'll have to see what happens in that one. |
| 2:36.9 | So, yeah, that's that. |
| 2:38.2 | And Arsenal, again, the other teams who have progressed in Europe, |
| 2:42.9 | they will therefore be playing in the midweek that follows Game Week 34 |
| 2:47.1 | and Austin in the FA Cup. |
| 2:48.4 | So that will potentially need rescheduling depending upon |
| 2:52.3 | what happens to them in their FA Cup game against Southampton. Gosh, my weakness nearly got worse. |
| 2:57.2 | I nearly choked on the bit of water I tried to drink very quickly between that. Jules, I've probably |
| 3:02.4 | stolen your thunder a little bit by telling the listeners and you guys what that means in terms |
| 3:07.1 | of what happened in the |
| 3:07.5 | Champions League for us going forward. |
