Investigating the case of the murders of Lloyd and Agnes Courtney is proving to be one of

the most difficult tasks that I've ever undertaken.

It first the complexities seem to derive from the chaotic crime scene, but as I'm moving

along I'm discovering that the crime scene is not the issue.

The problem is, like in any case, the crime scene is a puzzle, and it's our job to put

the pieces together.

No matter how complicated a scene appears to be, when we break it down piece by piece,

the picture always becomes clear.

But what I'm realizing now is that the courties crime scene is a puzzle that's missing pieces.

Last week I promised that we will dig into the forensics in this episode, in hopes that

the noticeable gaps will be filled in.

Unfortunately, as I was researching trial transcripts, the DA's file, the police file,

I came to the disappointing realization that the Fort Worth Police Department approached

this case with blinders on.

And that may have led to Agnes and Lloyd's killer, walking free.
