I'm John Batch, sir. I welcome my colleague Mary Anastasio Grady, the America's columnist and editor at the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal. Mexico. The question mark around Mexico these days has to do with the commitment of Mexico to the ambitions of the United States to prevent the narco-terrorism from overrunning the U.S., the Central America, and the rest of the Americas. That in part explains the

conflict we're now witnessing not about Venezuela, but about Mexico. Mary, good evening to you.

Cody Scheinbaum is the president of Mexico, elected uniformly by

the Marina Party that is headed by Amlo, the previous president. And over these last days,

there have been questions raised about Chloe Shinebaum's connection to or indifference to the conduct of the dictator in Caracas, the dictator in Havana,

the dictator in Managua, I could go on, and her understanding of the future.

The reason I bring all this up is because you, in your column, mention ideology for Claudia Scheinbaum.

She is a technocrat, a former mayor of Mexico City, a very large and sprawling and troubled

city. And she managed it well. And her reputation coming into office was that of a person

who got things done. What about her ideology, Mary? What do we need to know?

Good evening to you. Well, Claudia Shambam is extremely ideological. You know, the president of

Colombia, Gustavo Petro, who's a former member of the M-19 terrorist group, has praised her ideology and her leftist vision of

a revolution and so forth. This is a longstanding attribute of hers, and I think we're seeing

that become more pronounced in this government as she supports both the dictatorship in

Venezuela and the dictatorship in Cuba.
