The Oakland A's are headed to Las Vegas. They're stopping off in Sacramento to play the season there while they're building the stadium in Las Vegas, ready in 2028, I believe. Here's Jeff Bliss to explain a little problem developed about the naming of the Oakland A's that were once the Kansas City A's, and I think before that they were the Philadelphia A's.

But on their way to become a Las Vegas A's,

from las vegas wonderful is jeff that's a good question where the name is that you know they're

in sacramento right now while you know they they they finish their lease in oakland uh you know

they're they're the last pro team to leave Oakland. There's no

NHL hockey anymore, no NBA there. That's over in San Francisco. No NFL Raiders. You know,

everybody left. And the stadium there is partially to blame. The city is a big reason, too.

Oakland is horrible these days. They left Oakland and between the time getting their stadium built in Vegas in

28 is the completion date, they've been, you know, playing at a minor league baseball field in

Sacramento. And there's been a lot of talk, are they the Sacramento A's? And they've kind of

tried to avoid that. But they finally managed to nail down a name and logo and such for their Sacramento

stay, and they're the Sacramento A's. They weren't allowed to have Sacramento Athletics

because it's too close to other businesses that have been long established in the city. But

they're having very bad, you know, very tough problems right now because they applied for Las Vegas A's and Las Vegas athletics.

Somebody got there ahead of them, got those names.
