my good colleague joins me from the Hoover Institution to comment on

scrounging for money in Europe here at the holiday time of year.

The first is scrounging in the European Union and NATO. We go to headlines out of London.

The Prime Minister of Great Britain, Sir Kier Starrmer himself, quote, has threatened to seize the two and a half million pound proceeds from the sale of Chelsea Football Club from Roman

Abramovich, a Russian oligarch, to aid Ukraine's war efforts. The government said it had issued

a license that permits the transfer. Michael, the scrounging in Russia is more desperate, but

this got my attention because Cirqueier-Starmer doesn't

have the cash in his own pocket to help Ukraine, but he does think confiscating the swag of a Russian

oligarch makes poetic sense. Now, I want to conjoin this with what we discussed last week. All of the European Union is

looking for money, and they know their frozen Russian assets, some of which is in Belgium, but Belgium

says no way we're going to let you touch it because we're on the hook for it. Have they found a solution

for either Abramovich's $2.5 billion

because he's protesting

or the, what is it, $180 billion,

some big number out of Belgium.
