This is John Batchel, a conversation with my colleague Bob Zimmerman about the Ukraine War in Space.

Bob reports on Starling, the system that is arrayed by SpaceX, satellites swimming over the globe,

communicating via the Internet, and modules that you can have at home with a dish on the roof.

But that's in the war. In other words, the war has now moved off the planet in low Earth orbit.

Here's Bob to explain. We can expect more of this in future. You call it a domestic internet connection.

Another person calls it a weapon.

Much more denied.

Well, they've been trying to do this since the beginning.

This has to do with the Ukraine war.

SpaceX provides a link to the Ukraine to help in its military operations. It pays for it, or at least

the United States pays for it for the Ukraine. It's not clear. But Russia military has been

attempting to, as has been obtaining on the black market, small terminals of stalling, the mini terminal that can be put on vehicles,

and they've been attaching them to drones to use in their military operations in the Ukraine.

There's a lot of limitations to this.

For one thing, both the Ukraine, the United States, and Staling, have been trying to block the effort.

Secondly, they're black market terminals, so they have limited use.

And third, they have to work within a small range.

They don't have long ranges.

But they've been doing this, and they continue to do this.

There is talk of Ukraine looking for alternative satellite systems, but there really is nothing available at the moment.

Right now, it looks like this is just a problem, a minor problem that the Ukraine will have to deal with in its war with Russia as they work to try to block Russia from doing this.
