Summary

The Giro d'Italia spent a fourth day on the island of Sicliy and Richard and Daniel went shark hunting in Messina, visiting the shop owned by Vincenzo Nibali's family.

With the stage won in a close sprint by Arnaud Démare of Groupama-FDJ, we get an eyewitness account from our audio diarist, and Démare's leadout man, Jacopo Guarnieri. We speak to Pello Bilbao, who is sitting third overall after also riding the Tour de France. The Basque climber tells us how the decision was made to go from the Tour to the Giro, what he did in the two weeks between the two Grand Tours, and how he expects his body to respond as he gets deeper into the race.

We also hear from Lizzy Banks, whose team, Équipe Paule Ka, is in trouble after it emerged that the sponsor has not met its financial obligations.
