I'm John Batchelor. David Elder of the Foundation for Defense of Democracy is watching Lebanon and the Hezbollah,

continuing their war against Israel and their servants to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

We begin with the New York Times article filed in these last hours. Lebanese hold fast to their

land despite threat of long Israeli occupation.

Subhead, entire towns in southern Lebanon have been hollowed out by the war between Israel and Hezbollah.

Some residents have stayed, fearing permanent displacement.

David, a very good evening, too.

You have taught me that the reason there are people staying in the

villages in the south is that there are there Hezbollah or Hezbollah families.

And what we're looking at are the fighters that have been launching against Israel.

This is where they live.

So right now, what is the status of southern Lebanon in terms of the Lebanese government?

What does the Lebanese government propose to do about the fact that the whole south of the country is a nest of killers?

Look, I don't want to suggest that every resident of southern Lebanon is a Hezbollah.

What I want to make clear is that the Hezbo fighters that are fighting in these villagers are locals.

And so you have otherwise peaceful people.

And among them, you might have a family member who's a Hezbole of fighter and so on and so forth,

which makes it impossible and

practical to do what the June 3rd agreement understanding the United States reached between

Israel and Lebanon required Hezbollah to evacuate its fighters north of the Litanianne River.
