I welcome Professor Evan Ellis of the U.S. Army War College, Strategic Studies Institute,

and we look immediately at the sharp end of the stick.

That would be the fleet and the air components and the marine components

gathered between Puerto Rico and Venezuela.

And the ambition here, as we understand it from headlines around the world these last days,

is to oust Maduro from the palace in Caracas

and his regime to either flee or be defeated

by the Venezuelan people,

aided by the requested in combat capability

of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps

by the legitimate president of Venezuela, Mr. Gonzalez,

and his colleague Maria Karina Machado, the leader of the opposition.

All of that in a package.

However, we remain no decision made at the White House.

The president has spoken both of violence and of talk.
