First, I would like to thank everyone

for coming to the press conference that I eagerly requested to have. I would also like to show my sincere gratitude to the government of the DPR Korea

for giving me this opportunity to apologize for my crime, to beg for forgiveness,

and to beg for any assistance to save my life.

On December 29th, 2015, I entered the DPR Korea as a tourist.

On January 1st, 2016, New Year's Day, I committed severe crimes against both the people

and the government of the DPR Korea. Due to this crime, on January 2nd, 2016, I was detained and I am currently

under investigation. My name is Otto Frederick Warmbier. I am 21 years old. I am a student

of finance at the University of Virginia. I am in my third year at the university.

My father, Frederick Warambere, owns a very small
