This season, we're reading some of Lewis's letters, which have been brought together

in several different collections.

In season seven, we'll read his correspondence with Mary Willis Shelburne found in the Letters to American Lady,

as well as his letters to children and his exchange of Latin letters with St Giovanni Calabria.

We're in our penultimate episode of Letters to an American Lady, and today we're going to be looking at the letters of 1959 and 1960.

In these letters, we'll be heading into some difficult times for both Jack and Mary, the major event during this period being the death of Jack's wife, Joy.
