This season, we're reading some of Lewis's letters, which have been brought together in several different collections.

In season seven, we're going to read the correspondence with Mary Willis Shelburne, found in Letters

to an American Lady, as well as letters to children, and his exchange of Latin letters with

St Giovanni Calabria.

And today's opening quotation is found in the early pages of our first book,

Letters to an American Lady, when Lewis is speaking about ecumenism. And in today's

episode, we're going to begin reading this collection and hear Jack's thoughts about first editions,

angels, and conversion. We're going to be covering approximately a two or three year period,

looking at the letters between the 26th of October, 1950, ending with 1953.
