But today is the inaugural C.S. Lewis Reading Day. And the opening quotation comes

In today's episode, we're going to be doing what we're encouraging everyone to do on social

media today, namely to share favorite Lewis quotations and to talk about how

Lewis has affected our lives. David isn't here today, so the inmates are running the asylum.

David's busy collaborating with the Talking Beast podcast, but that just means that Matt and I get

our guests all to ourselves, a fan favorite, a dear friend,

Professor Diana Pavlach Glyer.

She's a professor at the APU-A-U-A-Pacific University Honors College and the author of Bandersnatch,

the company they keep, and most recently the major and the missionary.

So we need to start with, well, first of all, welcome, Diana.

Thank you very very much.

I wanted to start, though, with the story that we couldn't capture in the recording

because we weren't recording yet, but right when we got on, we've had a few hiccups getting

going, And Diana

made the funniest joke I think I have ever heard. She goes, well, I saw David wasn't going to be

joining us. And so I factored in a little bit of time for some hiccups in the beginning.
