Welcome, everyone, here on Pines with Jack.

We're reading our way through the works of C.S. Lewis.

But as usual, this is an after hours conversation.

And a book I am really excited for us to dive into because, as you guys know on the podcast, I love to attempt every episode to take whatever we're discussing

in a Lewis work and figure out, okay, how does this challenge me, my spiritual journey,

my discipleship journey? And this is what we're going to get in this book. It's going to dive into how

the Narnian book series can help us with that. And so I chose the quote from this. It's from

chapter three because I just felt it was truly profound, not only because I believe it to be true,

but it's also incredibly encouraging. I've been honest on this podcast with ups and downs

in my life. And sometimes when you're in a down spot, you can look at the gap of where you want to be and where you are. And it can be very discouraging. But when you recognize just the direction you're going and just making that slight shift can be an incredibly encouraging statement in a dark period because you know that if you just make

these slight shifts as they compound, they will change your destination. And that's what is so important.

And so we're going to get some tips in here, I think, from the Narnian books of ways that we can do
