Well, welcome, everyone. Here on Pints with Jack, we're reading our way through the works

of C.S. Lewis. And in today's episode, we're enjoying our last episode in our series that

we've been calling Jack's Bookshelf, where we've been examining the impact of

certain books and writers on C.S. Lewis. We have thus far covered older authors who were long

dead by the time Lewis was writing, but today we gladly come to and deal with a contemporary

Dorothy L. Sayers. I picked this quote because it jumped out of me from Crystal Downing's book, and it seems

to be so relevant to what we've been talking about this season and out of the silent planet,

and also to the larger work of Lewis and Williams and the inklings, and in some ways the larger

work that the Holy Spirit is doing in our culture. And I think that we really need to be creatively in the image of God

building bridges between Christ and culture. And we must love them both following the two

great commandments. So that was where that quote came from. And I can't wait, listeners, for you
