Welcome, everyone. Here on Pites for Jack, we're reading our way through the works of C.S. Lewis.

I'm David, and I'm joined by my co-host, Father Andrew, and Brother Matt.

This season, we find ourselves among the stars, reading through the first of C.S. Lewis's science fiction trilogy, Out of the Silent Planet.

And in today's episode, Ransom, Western, and Divine return to Earth.

We'll hear how this journey compares to their outbound journey, and learn about the first thing

Ransom does when he arrives home.

Throughout this season, we've been naming each episode after a movie title, since Lewis doesn't

give his chapters any names, and today's episode is named after Down to Earth, a 2001 movie

starring Chris Rock.

And since I'm leading today, batesian Rigidity regarding timing will be strictly enforced,

although I will take a moment to point out that a patron, Jonah Losh, came up with a new term for this.

Since I have been identified, quite correctly, I might add, as a fiffletrig.

Batesian rigidity might also be called fiffletrigity.

So, fiftletrigity will be in full force today.
