In the Heights. Out of the Silent Planet, Chapter 14 and 15.

Welcome, everyone. Here on Pines for Jack, we are reading our way to the works of C.S. Lewis. I'm David, and I'm joined by my co-hosts, Andrew and Matt. This season, we find ourselves among the stars, reading through the first of C.S. Lewis's science fiction trilogy, out of the silent planet. So for the last couple of recordings, we've only done one chapter per episode, but I'm hoping that today we'll pick up the pace a little bit and get two done, chapters 14 and 15.

And in these chapters, Ransom is going to journey to the Highlands, hence today's episode title, named after the 2021 movie musical in the Heights.

And there he comes face to face with something that he has feared ever since he was abducted,

a sawn.

So with the warning that Batesian rigidity is in full force today to make sure that we get

through both chapters, gentlemen, how are you doing?

Well, first, I think we'll be able to.

This is a unique chapter where we don't need, there's not as many minutia details we need to go through,

but there's some powerful themes.

And so I think we're going to have an incredible discussion.

But I think by the nature of these two chapters, we will be able to get to it.

And so I'm ready for baits and rigidity.

And I'm doing well.

I'm looking forward to this.
