guest, Jack. I'm super excited to have him back on. Welcome. Thank you, Ashley. It's good to be back.

Of course. So happy to have you here. You may know Jack is the author of Kabbalah for Wiccans or a tarot for real life,

but today we're going to be discussing his newest book, Queen of All Witcheries,

A Biography of the Goddess. Super stoked for this one. When I first heard this book was coming

out, I was like, I need to get my hands on this immediately. And I do, I do have it right

next to me. I got it pretty immediately. So yeah, Jack,

tell us a little bit about the book. I'm so excited about this book. I am so in love with this book.

So the idea behind this book is kind of twofold. The first is that just straightforwardly,

it's a book about the goddess. So if you're getting into witchcraft or paganism or new age religion, whatever, you're going to hear a lot of people talking about the goddess. And a lot of the time they're talking sort of with the assumption that you know who that is and what that's all about. But if you're brand new, you don't know those things. So this is a book, first and foremost, that just introduces people to who the goddess is and what worshipping her is like and, like, what kind of a deity she is.

But then also, I think a lot of books have been written about the goddess, but none of them terribly recently.

There was a big publishing boom about goddess worship sort of up through

the late 90s and then around the turn of the century that died off. And there hasn't really been a

major goddess book in the past 25 years. And well, 20 years. But anyways, the problem with that

is that a lot of our information has changed

since the big goddess publishing boom of the 90s. So in particular, there are some historical

claims that a lot of these books make that we sort of now know to be outdated or untrue. And also,

there are a lot of claims about an essentializing nature of womanhood,

where, you know, the goddess equals woman and the woman equals womb power. And womanhood is

defined by having a vagina that menstruates and so on and so forth, all of which was a really

important part of a certain kind of feminist polemic in the 90s,

but a lot of feminist discourse or goddess worship discourse today doesn't really embrace that rhetoric,
