Hello everyone and welcome to the Focus Group podcast. I'm Sarah Longwell, publisher of the bulwark.

And this week, we are back and I am pumped about it. I have been doing focus groups all

summer and I've been dying to talk to you guys about them. I did have to take a little

hiatus on the show this summer because I got some other projects I'm working on. And this show is

quite a big lift actually. But I'm super excited to catch you

guys up on what we've been hearing and talk through all of it. Here's a sampling of just some

of the things that happened over the summer that we haven't fully addressed on this show. Trump bombed

Iran. Maybe that feels like a million years ago, but that happened over the summer. He seized

control of D.C. That's happening right now.

The National Guard is here, taking over our D.C. police force. He's given everybody tariff whiplash,

which my producer thinks we should call rifflash, which I don't think works. And he's still
