| 0:05.7 | Back in the 1600s, when King James decided we need an official translation of the Bible into English. |
| 0:14.7 | And we need to go back to the original sources to do it. |
| 0:18.6 | He had 47 translators. And at the very beginning of the translation, |
| 0:25.4 | Miles Smith wrote on behalf of all 47 translators, and it's called the translator to the reader. |
| 0:32.6 | And it's not included in most King James Bibles today because it's kind of long, but he said we would be so negligent |
| 0:39.9 | to disregard the beauty and the fullness and the perfection that is found in scripture. |
| 0:50.4 | He goes on and talks about all these earthly things, like an herb that's supposed to cure all |
| 0:56.2 | disease and medicine that's supposed to be the best of all medicines. |
| 1:02.0 | And he talks about mythical armor that is supposed to ward off any kind of spear or anything |
| 1:08.3 | like that. |
| 1:09.2 | And he gets to the end of that and he says, but |
| 1:12.1 | scripture is true and morphal. It's not just an herb. It's a tree that produces fruit that is |
| 1:20.7 | healing to the nations. He just has this beautiful way of establishing the supremacy of scripture. |
| 1:27.3 | And then at the end of his letter, |
| 1:30.2 | he says this to the reader. He said, happy is the man that delighted in the scripture and |
| 1:37.5 | thrice happy that meditateth in it day and night. And if you think about this, like, it's such a gift that God is a God who wants to be known, |
| 1:49.5 | because if he didn't want to be known, we wouldn't know him at all. |
| 1:53.7 | But not only did he choose to be known, but he has done it in his word to us that is living and active, as it says in scripture. |
| 2:04.9 | And not just that, but the word became flesh and dwelt among us. |
