Hey, this is Shelby and CJ. We're in the book of Nehemiah. Today we're in chapters four through six. So Nehemiah, he's gotten permission. He has come back. He is beginning to kind of build walls, but we said yesterday he's starting to face some

opposition similar to what we read in Ezra. How's Nehemiah doing as we pick up here in chapter

four? So Nehemiah continues to do well. Only some of the gates and some of the walls are up.

And Nehemiah four, he continues his rebuilding efforts. And he's accomplishing so much, and he's doing so well that we see San Balot again pop up,

this sort of enemy of Nehemiah.

And he gathers a bunch of people to resist the Jews in their repair efforts.

And the text says that the people are Sanballot and the Samarians to the north,

Tobiah and some of the Arabs to the south, the Ashtadites to the west, and the Ammonites to the east.

So in other words, like the Jews have total opposition all around on all sides.

successful. And then we were introduced to a new problem in Nehemiah 5. Nehemiah becomes angry because

brothers are enslaving brothers. So we've seen this sort of theme in judges even, how what began or what started as a problem on the outside of the people also ends up popping up inside or among the people.

And that's the same sort of situation that's going on here.
