Welcome, everyone. Pines with Jack is your weekly CS Lewis podcast, where Matt, Andrew and I break

down and discuss the works of

CS Lewis. This season, we're eavesdropping on the correspondence of a senior demon,

screw tape, as he explains how to tempt the patient, a human assigned to be tempted by

screw tape's nephew, Wormwood. Each week will be considering a different letter, untwisting

screw tape's hellish logic, and forming a battle plan for our own spiritual lives.

In the first episode, we said that we're going to be having occasional guest co-hosts, and today is proof of that, as we have a guest co-host for our very first letter from Screw Tate.

And today's guest is Trent Horn.

Trent serves as a staff apologist for Catholic Answers, where he specializes in teaching Catholics

to graciously and persuasively engage those who disagree with them. You may have heard him

debating the existence of God with Alex O'Connor, the Cosmic Skeptic, abortion with

David Boonin, socialism with Sam Rocha, or Eternal Security with James White. He has master's

degrees in the fields of theology, philosophy, and bioethics, and he runs a podcast, which includes

a pun in its name, therefore making it amazing,

the Council of Trent, where he not only talks about theology and philosophy, but also about severely underappreciated films, how to win at the video game Oregon Trail, how to survive

natural disasters, and how to have the best day ever at Disneyland. He writes and publishes a new book seemingly every few weeks, and past titles include

counterfeit Christ's, made this way, answering atheism, hard sayings, the case for Catholicism,

persuasive pro-life, and what the saints never said.
