Hey everyone, today we are going to go a little deeper into the passage that we looked at and annotated yesterday, Genesis 315.

That's right. So let me ask you this first question that we're talking about every Tuesday, which is where does this passage fit in the story of scripture? Yeah, I mentioned yesterday

how important context is in general, but in particular with this passage, because if we just

read it on its own, it can definitely make us wonder, like, what is going on? So we might remember

that last week we were in Genesis 1 at the beginning of creation.

So in Genesis 3, we're still at the beginning.

God has created his first humans, Adam and Eve, and he has charged them to be image

bearers in the world that he has created, ruling over it and cultivating it in such a way

that brings glory to him.

Adam and Eve were able to enjoy all that God had created, except that they weren't supposed

to take fruit from this one tree in the garden.
