0:31.3	Hey friends, welcome back to a year in the Bible. I'm Beth and I am joined by my co-host, Alexa.
0:36.3	Hey, everyone, so far this week we have looked at Isaiah 42, 6-7, Isaiah 496, and John 812.
0:43.8	And now we want to connect those passages together and to Christ.
0:46.9	Yeah.
0:47.3	So Alexa, can you help us understand how these passages relate to and point to Christ?
0:53.0	Yes, absolutely.
1:01.4	So in both Isaiah 4226-7 and 496, we see how God's promised servant is going to be a light to the nations. In John 812, Jesus says that he is the
1:07.8	light of the world. So Jesus is God's promised servant who brings light to the
1:12.6	nations, the whole world. But I think this naturally leads us to ask, what does it mean that
1:18.6	Jesus is the light and brings this light? So throughout scripture, light and darkness is often
1:24.5	used spiritually to describe walking in God's ways and not walking in
1:28.5	God's ways. So, for example, when talking about wisdom and Proverbs 2 12 through 13, Solomon writes,
1:34.8	it will rescue you from the way of evil, from anyone who says perverse things, from those
1:41.0	who abandon the right paths to walk in ways of darkness.
1:44.8	And Jesus says in John 3, 19 through 21, the light has come into the world and people
