episode of a year in the Bible. My name is Alexa, and I'm here with my co-host, Beth. Hey, everyone. So so far this week, we've been in the Old Testament and diving into 1 Samuel

2 1 through 10. But today, we're going to turn to the New Testament and look at verses from Luke 1,

46 through 55. And so this passage says, and Mary said, my soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God, my Savior, because he has looked with favor on the humble condition of his servant.

Surely from now on all generations will call me blessed, because the mighty one has done great things for me, and his name is holy.

passage of scripture and getting to see its connection with 1 Samuel 2 1 through 10 is just so fascinating.

So to show how 1st Samuel 2 1 through 10 connects with Luke 1, 46, 355, let me highlight some things that we see about God's character.

We see God's favor or grace given to the lowly in verse 48, as Mary says, he has looked with favor on the humble condition of his servant.
