Bible. I'm Beth and I'm here with my co-host, Alexa. Hey, everyone. Today, we are going to be making the Christ connection between the passages we've read this week, Galatians 3, 10 through 14, and Deuteronomy 11, 26 through 32.

So, Alexa, what can we learn about these two passages and how they connect to Christ?

Yeah, I thought I would start by giving some context for the book of Galatians.

In the annotation day yesterday, one of the prompts asked why the author of Galatians is writing

to this group of people.

If you didn't get the opportunity to do that or just want a refresher, Paul is writing to the church

in Galatia.

This church is experiencing teachers who are essentially saying that you need to be circumcised in order to receive salvation.

Paul responds to the situation by reminding the Galatians that they have been released from the ceremonial law.

In other words, they don't need to be circumcised to receive salvation.

And he reminds them that it's not by any works of the law that we are saved.

We are saved through faith in Christ.

He writes in Galatians 2.16,

Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law, but through faith in Jesus Christ.

So we also have believed in Christ Jesus in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law because by works of the law, no one is justified.
