From a tiny efficiency apartment here in New York City, this is obscure season four in American

tragedy.

I'm your host, your friend, your ear lover, and literary mansplainer in chief,

Michael Ian Black. And I don't know how many weeks I've been here now, four or five, something like

that. I was home last week in Savani back this week. And, you know, I'm enjoying it less and less.

Just because I'm not home and I don't know my stuff and I'm alone most of the time.

And New York City, if you've never lived here, you know, it's a big populace metropolis.

It's a populous metropolis.

And you'd think, surrounded by people as you are all the time day and night

that it'd be hard to get lonely but in fact it is among the lonelier towns in these

United States.

Because everybody's in such a hurry and there's so much bustle going on that, you know,

you just feel like a leaf being swept downstream.

And that's how I have felt, particularly this last few days, like a leaf floating downstream

all by my lonesome. Now, I don't mind being bored and I don't mind being lonely particularly,

but there does come a point where one thinks to oneself, gee, it'd be nice to have something to do.

And I know it's New York. You can go and do stuff, but what am I going to do?

Go to the park, man. Go to a museum. What am I going to do? You know?

So it's a lot of playing chess and it's a lot of doom scrolling and all the rest of it. Haven't found a new show that I'm excited about. You know, it's a lot of playing chess, and it's a lot of doom scrolling and all the rest of it.

You know, it's just these are petty complaints.

Because the fact of the matter is if I work much more than I'm currently working, well, I would complain about that too.
