I'm Holly and I'm Bridget and this is Girls Next Level.

Welcome back to Girls Next Level podcast, you guys.

0:13.9

Bridget, I have to ask you, have you been a victim of the Instagram location update?

0:20.0

Okay. So I've gotten tons of warning on this, but I never update my stuff when it comes up. Like, I wait, like, unless I have to. Oh, so you think it's not even working on yours? I don't think it's working because as soon as I saw this, I was like, oh, my God. And I ran to Instagram, and I can't find it anywhere on my Instagram. And I even followed, like, the instructions that people said. And I don't even have that on mine. Yeah, it shows up when you tap the heart, the like section. And you know how it has the notes on top? Like your friends will put like a little note and you see their bubble. It was a bubble up there that's like a world. You would have seen that. I don't have that yet. And then I went and I checked and I do have an update for Instagram and I'm like, I'm not going to do it. You still am updated. And then I went and turned off my location on my entire phone just to be saying. No, that's what you have to do. You have to go into settings and then go to Instagram and turn off the location services, which is I did that, but you will also show up on the map or your post will show up on the map if you put a location on the post. But that's fine because usually you're not doing it in real time. Like if I posted a reel that was at the Westgate when we went to that all this thing and I posted Westgate, that'll show up on the map, but it's a week later.

1:30.5

So I don't care. So I was getting all these

1:32.4

messages from you guys and thank you for your concern. But it's not real-time stuff. So just to put

1:37.6

everybody at ease. Yeah. Can I just say I despise the way, I know this is old news, but I despise the way the Instagram feed is

1:47.0

these days, how it used to be just people you followed in chronological order. And now it's just

1:52.3

like they're suggesting dumb shit to you. And I hate it. It's turning into Facebook,

1:57.1

AI slop memes. Oh, yeah. So I used to try and keep how many people I was following down to a minimum because I do try to like keep track and like everybody's stuff and everything. But now it's just so filled with all this other stuff. I feel like I'm scrolling for days just to find like my friends things and I just give up sometimes. I'm like, forget it. It's too much stuff.

2:20.8

Like I try to get to that little in part where it's like, oh, you're all caught up.

2:27.0

Sometimes I can't even get there. It takes too long. Yeah. I do love Instagram as a platform just because my friends are more on that one than all the others. It's more consistent that way. And I feel like

2:32.8

their views for realels are more consistent than

2:35.6

TikTok. TikTok will, like, put you in jail one day and decide you're not getting any views for like,

2:39.7

it's so annoying. So that's what I like about it. And like the guy I like is on there. So we're

2:45.0

always like responding to each other's stories and stuff like that. So that's fun. But the feed

2:49.3

itself kills me. I should just stop scrolling the feed part and just do stories and stuff. And I don't even really like looking at real. I like posting reels because like I said, it's more consistent views and stuff like that. But even like going through reels, it's just like a day late and a dollar short compared to TikTok.

3:08.2

It's just that the algorithm isn't as good.

3:11.0

And I also somehow ended up on like billionaire feed where they're feeding you all these facts about billionaires and like this person sold this company at this age and this person.

3:21.7

And even though I know those are all outlier stories, I'm looking at it in my feed. And it makes me feel like every single human being on the face of the earth is making a billion dollars a day. And it makes me feel like, I'm in the wrong line of work. What am I doing wrong? Why have I figured out my shit yet? And it's just like not healthy. Yeah. Like it's not like you could look at that and be like, oh, inspiring. Look at all these ways you can make money. Like this is so bountiful, but it doesn't hit me that way. Yeah. I know what you mean. Sometimes there's a weird balance. Like you want to be inspired, but at the same time you don't want to feel bad about yourself that you're not doing enough or haven't done enough. Yeah. You know, it was so sweet that somebody did for me. There's this woman named Kelly, who's a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader's alumni, and she went to one of like the meet and greet things, because you can go and you can like take like kids, you know, and stuff to like meet the new team. And Rainbow loves Charlie, the Redhead from the show. And she got Charlie to say,

4:16.1

Hi, Rainbow. Thanks for watching the show. And I just want to say thank you to Kelly because Rainbow

4:20.1

loved it. She was so, like I wasn't with her the day I got it. So I sent it to her and she was like,
