So what do you do when the power goes out?

I know I have been thinking about this question

a lot more lately,

not only after watching the horrible power outages

that hit Texas a few months ago,

but also after going through our own historic record breaking,

whatever you wanna call it,

snowmageddon a few weeks ago here on our homestead,

where we didn't lose power,

but the neighboring town actually did,

and they were out for 40 plus hours.

So I've been pondering this a lot lately,

thinking about how we can be more prepared

for both short term outages,

but also maybe long term outages too.

However, I am far from an expert on this topic,
