0:10.3	Today, we are reading Acts 23 and 24, and Pam Rittenberry wrote an excellent devotional on today's passage.
0:18.0	She wrote, Acts 23 and 24, tell us about some of Paul's harshest trials and the Lord's
0:24.2	encouragement through it all. Paul's journey with the Lord often involved testing or suffering before
0:30.1	rulers and crowds, like the two hearings we see in our passage today. Paul needed the Lord's
0:35.6	encouragement, just like we do as we move through the obstacles
0:38.5	of our daily lives. This passage, with its reminder that God provides for us in times of
0:43.7	hardship, is a gift for us in our everyday challenges. We're reminded that what was true for Paul
0:50.4	is true for us. Jesus is the same then and now. The Lord knows us, the Lord is with us,
0:57.0	the Lord is for us, and the Lord is not finished with us. Pam continued by saying,
1:03.0	We often forget that God is not surprised by what's causing us frustration or panic. We can choose
1:09.0	to trust and depend on the Holy Spirit. Our triune
1:12.4	God will never forsake us. All will be to his glory. The reminder that my sanctification
1:18.0	is not finished until I am face to face with him is a daily blessing. Pam concludes by saying,
1:24.4	in Acts 24, we see God's sovereignty on full display. We see in Paul's circumstances
1:29.5	that God is in control. Even when we are going through trials, he protects and provides, as he did
1:34.8	with Paul and Cesarea. We can know and trust that his sovereignty is an action in our lives.
1:40.6	What a sweet blessing, Pam writes, that we can stay faithful as his witnesses, even in stressful
1:46.4	situations.
1:47.6	And then Pam gave us some great discussion questions, which read, Are you certain of God's
