0:23.3	I'm so glad you're here, and we are going to spend all of our time on Ezekiel.

0:36.0	So I'm just going to jump in with the first one, if that's good.

0:39.6	So we asked, Brett, would you please walk us through the imagery of spiritual adultery in God's grace at the end of chapter 16?
0:48.9	Yeah, sure.
0:50.4	So understanding, it's first important, Ezekiel is now in Babylon, and he was taken in the second deportation.
1:01.8	And so Ezekiel's writing some prophecy that's dealing with what's coming and also telling the Israelites how they should be responding. And so in Ezekiel 16, God tells a story
1:17.4	through Ezekiel of a newborn that he found that had been abandoned at birth. And he reared this child,
1:26.7	love this child. And as she grew older, she became beautiful,
1:33.0	and he adopted her or married her, you might say, as his wife.
1:38.8	But then it goes on to explain how she became very unfaithful. And he even calls her worse than a prostitute at a certain
1:51.2	point because prostitutes generally get paid for their services. And God accuses them of even having paid the others rather than even receiving payment.
2:07.6	That's heavy. Yeah, it's really heavy stuff. It's intensely graphic, full of all kinds of
2:14.4	symbolic language. And so as a result, she will encounter judgment and
