And today I am in the studio with Watermark membership director and my friend Bobby Dernan. What's up, Seth? Great to see you. I enjoyed our first episode, so it's good to be back again together. We have a great episode today. I hope it will feel a little bit like a movie because we're going to have some flash bats, flash forwards, flash sideways, discussed in the book of Isaiah, specifically focusing on the end of Ken Hezekiah's reign

as well as the promise of hope. But would you give us a kind of quick rundown of who Hezekiah was?

So Hezekiah was the king of Judah around 701 BC. He ruled for 29 years, and he was a standout

reformer. He purged illo worship. He destroyed pagan altars and he restored the temple.

He ultimately brought Judah back to faith in God.

His reign, which you can find described in 2nd Kings 18,

it was marked by trust in the Lord.

And that sets the stage for where we are at

with the Assyrian crisis in the first chapter we're covering today.

That's awesome. One of the few good kings in the book of kings, which is amazing. But looking at this,

pivoting off that background, would you like to kind of dive into chapters 37 through 39?

Let's do it. So we're going to start in chapter 37. So here's the scene. The Assyrian king, Sinakarib, he is knocking on Jerusalem's door.

And he has brought with him a massive army of probably over 200,000 soldiers.

And up to this point, and he's already crushed much of Judah.

There's not much left outside of Jerusalem.
