Today, we are reading Nehemiah 8 through 10, and I am back in the podcast studio with Scott Sangbos.

We're just going to jump in.

All right, and here's what we're going to do.

We're going to hit one-ish high-level thing for each chapter in today's reading.

And then we're going to camp out on the Feast of Booths.

So, Scott, what you got for us?

Yeah.

This is a really fun read to go 8 through 10 in one fell swoop because it feels very instructive.

In 8th, what we're going to see is that,

one, Ezra and Nehemiah are together again in the text. Ezra starts reading the law. So we have

the reading of the word. The people are unified. They want to hear the word. We see the leaders'

presence is there. So they have a desire to hear the word.

There's a respect given for the word.

And they also accompany the reading with explanations.

And those explanations of the word lead the people of Israel to weep when they hear it and when they start to understand it.

But yet the leaders encourage them to rejoice in the Lord's salvation and bringing them back and being faithful to his covenant promises. And so then we see the

people respond by celebrating the Feast of Boots, which had not been celebrated for a while in Jerusalem.
