with you in our year-long study of the New Testament. We are studying Titus 1 today and as always

with you today because I'm sure most of you when looking for encouragement in

your Bibles you don't necessarily flip to Titus.

Not because it's not encouraging, but just because it's a lesser-known book.

And I think that as we study Titus,

you will in fact be encouraged to cling to sound doctrine and allow this sound doctrine the truth of the

gospel and the grace you've received in Christ to fuel good works in your life. That's the big theme of

Titus. Paul will repeatedly discuss both sound

doctrine and good works in this letter and how they work together in the life of a Christian.
