Welcome back to a year in the Bible with daily grace. My name is Christian Schmucker and we are journeying through the New Testament

and we are currently in the Book of Romans.

Today we are currently in the book of Romans. Today we are studying Romans 3.

This is a big chapter. For the past few days Paul has communicated the

depravity of the human heart. Not only are Gentiles riddled with sin but Jews are too.

Though God's law came to them they refused to obey. In today's chapter Paul concludes that

no one is righteous. He will contrast man's lack of

righteousness with Jesus's perfect righteousness, helping us understand all the

more that we all need Christ. Are you ready to dive in? I once heard that the best

evaders write their speeches with opposing arguments in mind and this is what we

see Paul do at the beginning of the chapter. He anticipates backlash he might receive. The first

question may be Paul, if you say that following law and circumcision do not make us

right with God, are you against Jewish tradition? To this objection Paul affirms there is great honor in their Jewish faith.

For God entrusted his words first to the Jews. In fact, God brought forth Jesus through the Jews.

This is why all throughout acts Paul proclaimed in cities first

in Jewish synagogues, then to the Gentiles,

and even in Romans 116,

Paul proclaims Christ as salvation for everyone who believes, first to the Jew and also to the Greek.
