Hey friends, welcome back to a year in the Bible with Daily Grace. My name is Katie, and it is my

joy to walk through Revelation, our last book in the Bible and our year-long study of the New Testament.

Today, we are studying Revelation 1. As always, you can

follow along in the Behold Studies in the Daily Gracecoe shop or with a reading plan linked in the show notes.

Okay, take a moment to think of your favorite novel or movie. Now, imagine reading through the

entirety of that novel and never reading the

final chapter. Or what if you never laid eyes upon the last 20 minutes of your most beloved movie?

Likely you would have questions. Your expectations of closure would never be met. You would perhaps

miss on the entire point of the story. See, we love and even crave for loose ends to be tied up,

for our questions to rest in the finality of a good conclusion. Well, if we neglect to study the book of Revelation, we miss out on the

hope and joy of what God desires to communicate about Jesus' return. We miss the good ending.

Yet most of us have likely neglected this book because, let's be honest, it's intimidating.

And yet this letter was written not to confuse, but to reveal God's plan to restore the world and to encourage Christians

who are suffering. The author says in verse four, Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of

this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it

and take to heart what is written in it

because the time is near.

This book was written to be hopeful blessing

for ancient Christians and for us today.
