0:30.8	My name is Kristen Schmucker and we are making our way through the book of Matthew.
0:36.1	Today we are in Matthew 22. Can you believe it? We are almost finished with the first book in the New Testament. This year we are studying the New Testament
0:40.5	chapter by chapter and it has already been an amazing journey.
0:45.0	As always I'm using the free behold reading plan and the behold study guides from the Daily
0:49.3	Grace Co. and I'll link those for you in the show notes.
0:52.8	We open chapter 22 with a parable about a royal wedding.
0:56.8	Our culture loves a royal wedding,
0:59.1	and though royal weddings weren't being broadcast on television
1:02.2	while the world watched in Jesus Day,
1:04.4	I am sure that he used this parable because he knew that it would catch people's attention.
1:09.6	In this parable, a king invites guests to the wedding of his son but the guests well they didn't
1:16.1	come he sent the servants again to call the people to come to the wedding feast but
1:21.5	they didn't even pay attention to him. Eventually the servants who were
1:25.2	sent to announce the wedding were mistreated and killed. The king flings why the invitation to all. People were brought in from the streets to the marriage of the sun.
1:36.2	At the end of the parable we see that there are some who thought they were invited,
1:40.8	but they came without wedding clothes and were thrown out. Do you catch what Jesus is trying
1:45.7	to communicate here? The servants who went to reclaim the wedding of the sun point us to the
