As we begin to dive in, I want to put a picture in your mind.

Have you ever been in the presence of a competitive runner hours and minutes before a big race?

This could be maybe a track meet or a marathon.

Their focus is locked in on the prize,

on the race that is laid out before them.

In this chapter, Jesus is in the zone. He is focused on the race that is set before him.
