0:25.0	Welcome back to a year in the Bible with daily grace. My name is Kristen Schmucker and we are
0:27.5	journeying through the New Testament and today we continue in the book of

0:41.5	As we jump back into the Book of James, James discusses the sin of partiality
0:46.4	or favoritism. Though it may seem trivial at first, James shows us that it is definitely not a small thing.
0:54.0	We see that this goes against who God is and are reminded to flee from this sin
1:00.0	and to hold on to faith in Jesus.
1:03.4	James speaks into the times we look for approval from people
1:07.6	that we deem important and reminds us that this is sin.
1:12.2	James reminds his readers that God had in fact chosen the
1:15.7	poor of the world to be children of God. James was not saying that God had only
1:22.1	chosen the poor but that those whom the world books down on
1:26.0	are important to Him. Throughout scripture, we see God care for the poor and the marginalized,
1:32.4	and as his people, we should do the same.
1:36.0	Again we see echoes of the sermon on the mount where Jesus said,
